Solution on How to Get Apple Music to Rekordbox (after Max OS Catalina released) Huge blow to DJs who used both apps in tandem.Part 1. You essentially would have to export that file every time you make changes and want to bring it to rekordbox, which is complete madness.Īfter more digging around I found this article from late 2019 by djmag: which basically confirms that no dj software at all (Rekordbox, Serato, Traktor etc.), can access the Music database/library. :(Įxporting the library file from music (file > library > export library) is not a suitable solution really, as that file is basically useless once you’ve gone back to Music after and made any changes/updates, which aren’t reflected in that exported library file. Like you u/kosmodular, I do all my organizing of playlists, smart playlists, metadata, artwork etc in iTunes first, and then only bring over playlists to Rekordbox that I want to use for gigs &/or streams, so today’s discovery of no xml or itl file in Music has me in shock. Hi! has anyone found a new workaround for this? I’ve been on Mojave with iTunes and Rekordbox 6 (and previously RB 5) for the past many years (17k tune collection & growing) and finally just got a new MacBook Pro loaded with Ventura, only to discover that iTunes (now Apple’s Music app) no longer bridges to Rekordbox! 4.Restart the computer.ĮDIT: this issue is now solved :) See my newest post. 3.Terminate Music app with command(⌘ )+ Q key. Also, I had deleted some items from Apple TV library before and that partly worked, so it might be the combination for both things.įrom RB support: According to the engineering team, there is a possibility the issue happens because of the cache of Music app. I did the following (provided by RB Support and it fixed it for me. But this would mean I´m locked in to Rekordbox when it comes to all sorting I put on the library tho. Otherwise, I might just drop Apple Music and manage the Rekordbox library primarily and independently. ![]() Can anybody confirm this? Is there perhaps plans to bring Apple Music integration soon? Giving that RB says 'iTunes' in the UI, it makes me wonder whether Pioneer actually does not support the new Apple Music library xml that well. It seems that the latest Rekordbox (v6.04) does not integrate well with the latest Apple Music, as latest addition to Apple music library xml are not seen in Rekordbox despite of hitting refresh. I use Apple Music (formerly iTunes) as my source music library, so that I can organise music there in playlists before bringing it to DJ software (previously it was Traktor but now I'm on the middle of a transitioning to Rekordbox). ![]()
